Bro. Lapina has been a member of First Baptist Church since the age of 4. He made assurance of his salvation at the age of 11. Dr. Johnny Colsten led him to Christ, and he was baptized by Bro. Hyles. Bro. Lapina was called to preach as a sophomore in high school. Bro. Lapina graduated from Hyles-Anderson College in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree. Bro. Lapina began working on staff at FBC as the junior high youth director in January of 1978. He was youth pastor at FBC for 27 years. Since 2005 Bro. Lapina has worked as an assistant pastor overseeing conferences and properties, teaching the Young-at-Heart Adult Sunday School Class, and teaching at Hyles-Anderson College. Bro. Lapina is married to his high school sweetheart, Jamie. They have two children—Stacy and Matt—and four grandchildren.

The conference had so many special times with so many special people. We are thankful for the music, the new coffee shop, the hostesses that worked tirelessly the entire conference. Mrs. Wilkerson challenged us with her thoughts on F.I.R.S.T and then to make and keep our promise to "Do Right, Every Day, On Purpose."
