Youth Conference 2007

7,000 teenagers from around the world will gather in Hammond, Indiana, this week. Starting Wednesday, July 18, and continuing through Friday, July 20, the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, will host Youth Conference 2007. The theme this year is “Responsibility USA.” Pastor Jack Schaap stated that “This theme reflects a character trait that is crucial,” challenging young people to be “responsible for myself, my country, and my world.”

The teens will hear from the nation’s most dynamic youth speakers – Dr. Jack Schaap, Dr. Eddie Lapina, Eric Capaci, Reno Likins, Stuart Mason, Scott Gray, Chris Tefft, plus nine others. These men have helped many teenagers make it through the sometimes turbulent teenage years.

Sessions will feature hilarious skits, exciting music, and powerful sermons designed especially for teens. This year’s conference will feature music by the summer tour groups from Hyles-Anderson College and several different choirs and ensembles.

Thursday evening all delegates will go out to Crown Point for an evening packed with fun activities. Teens will have the opportunity to participate in paintball, men’s 3-on-3 basketball, dodge ball, a music competition, hay rides, carnival games, fireworks by the lake, and more on the campus of Hyles-Anderson College.

The conference is free and open to the public on Wednesday evening. Individuals, who would like to register for the week, can do that on Wednesday evening. For more information, call
219-932-0711 and ask for Dr. Eddie Lapina or go to www.youthconferencehammond.com. Youth Conference will be held at First Baptist Church, 473 Sibley Street, Hammond, Indiana.
