Home Away from Home for Christmas
Over 150 sailors from the Great Lakes Naval Base in Great Lakes, Illinois will be hosted by the First Baptist Church
of Hammond, Indiana on Christmas Day.These sailors who can’t go home will enjoy some of the fun of home as Brian
Cassada, a former Air force Captain, and some of the families of First Baptist Church try to ease their loneliness
this Christmas.
Each sailor will be treated to three home cooked meals, have the opportunity to play organized sports as well as
video games, board games or watch professional sports on big screen TVs.
Pastor Jack Schaap and First Baptist Church hopes to bring some joy to these men who have volunteered to serve our
country during these trying days.
