Taste on State - Those who enjoy
good food — and lots of it — will enjoy a “Taste on State,” sponsored by the First Baptist Church of
Hammond, Indiana. Taste on State will be held Sunday, June 22, from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., on the
north side of the church auditorium.
Baby Dedication 2008 - Hammond,
Indiana— Believing that children are an heritage of the Lord, Pastor Jack Schaap and First Baptist
Church of Hammond announce the annual Baby Dedication Sunday. This service will take place at First
Baptist Church, 473 Sibley Street, on May 11, at 10:30 a.m.
L. Fish Furniture Building Gets a
Facelift - Hammond, Indiana— The 1927-art deco L. Fish Furniture Building is getting new windows.
In First Baptist Church’s continued effort to beautify downtown Hammond, it has invested thousands of
dollars into the old L. Fish Furniture store.

Baptist Church will have Dr. Hans Nikoley speak
during their morning service. Dr. Nikoley grew
up during the Nazi rule in
Germany during World War II. His
father was a German soldier, and
his family endured many trials
during the war. After the war,
his family was able to immigrate
to the United States.
Commander Mike Cheetham -
Hammond, Indiana— On Sunday, November 11, First
Baptist Church will be honoring all our veterans
and military personnel who are present in the
service. In addition, special guest, Commander
Michael J. Cheetham, will be speaking. Commander
Cheetham enlisted in the United States Navy in
1986, and he currently serves as
a Civil Affairs Officer.
Gracia Burnham - Gracia
Burnham is to speak at the First
Baptist Church of Hammond on
November 4 at 10:30 a.m. In 2001
Martin and Gracia Burnham lived
a year-long nightmare in the
Philippine jungles as captives
of the Abu Sayyaf, a terrorist
group with ties to al-queda.
