Youth Conference 2011 - Cross Training

Hammond, Indiana - On July 19-21, 2011, First Baptist Church of Hammond will be hosting its annual Youth Conference. This year's theme is "Cross Training" which deals with the significance that the Cross plays today in our fast-paced lives. This year's conference is sure to be a life-changing event that will never be forgotten.
The kickoff will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, at the South Shore RailCats stadium. There will be a Home Run Derby with Mike "The Hammer" Hamilton, founder of Mastery Prison Ministry, an athletic outreach prison ministry; a Youth Pastor vs. Teenager softball game; and iPod and iPad giveaways. There will be split sessions on Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church. The sessions will included workshops for junior and senior high, singles, and youth directors. Wednesday evening at the Hyles-Anderson College campus there will be competitions and carnival games, followed by an extraordinary fireworks display. The fireworks will start around 9:15 p.m.
The main sessions, hosted by Pastor Jack Schaap, will take place in the First Baptist Church's 7,500-seat auditorium, located at 473 Sibley Street in Hammond, Indiana. This years' evening speakers include Dr. Johnny Pope, senior pastor at Christchurch Baptist Fellowship in Houston, Texas; and Kenny Baldwin, youth pastor at Crossroads Baptist Church in Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia. The evening sessions will include powerful preaching, hilarious skits, and soul-stirring music. Come early and stay late for this unique Youth Conference experience.
The conference begins on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Main Auditorium. On Tuesday and Thursday, the evening services will be open to the public.
