Pastors' School® 2011 - About the Cross

March 16, 2011

Hammond, Indiana - On March 21-24, 2011, the largest gathering of independent Baptists in the world will assemble in Hammond, Indiana, at the nation's largest and oldest Pastors' School conference. The theme for the 48th Annual Pastors' School® is "About the Cross." Most of the profound truths we learn about God surround that simple and crude, T-shaped Roman form of execution.

According to per-conference spending figures tabulated by the ICCA, over $4 million will be infused into Northwest Indiana's economy because of Pastors' School®.

There will be over 20 subjects discussed, with over 100 classes, during the mid-morning workshops so that anyone attending will be able to receive thousands of ideas. We will have experts from across the nation who will speak on some of the following subjects: bus work, church growth, church media and marketing, prayer, debt management, marriage counseling, teens and youth ministry, Spanish work, and many more.

The main sessions, hosted by Pastor Jack Schaap, will take place in First Baptist Church's 7,500-seat auditorium located at 473 Sibley Street in Hammond, Indiana. This year we have one of the greatest lineups of preachers in Pastors' School® history-over 350 years of combined experience in Christian service! Speaking in the evening sessions will be Raymond Hancock, evangelist; Johnny Pope, senior pastor at Christchurch Baptist Fellowship in Houston Texas; Tony Hutson, pastor of Middle Tennessee Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; David Gibbs, founder and president of the Christian Law Association; Bobby Roberson, pastor of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, North Carolina; Larry Brown, pastor of Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa; and Clarence Sexton, pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Powell, Tennesse, and chancellor of The Crown College. Host and pastor of First Baptist Church, Jack Schaap, will speak during the conclusion of the conference, Thursday night, March 24.

We will also be celebrating the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible. We will have on display during the conference the largest collection of original 1600s Bibles.

The conference begins on Monday evening at 6:00. On Tuesday through Thursday, the evening services, which are open to the public, will begin at 6:00. Inspirational music by the church's 125-voice choir and 60-piece orchestra, plus other musical specials and video presentations, will make each evening a night to remember.
