Hammond Family Fun Fest Was a Huge Success!
July 14, 2010
The Hammond Fun Fest held on the campus of First Baptist Church in Hammond, Indiana, was a huge success. Starting out the day was a car show with over 100 cars and a bike show with over 150 bikes you could hear the roaring of loud exhaust throughout the community. There were inflatables for the kids, along with 68 different food booths for the family to choose all different kinds of food, including Spanish, BBQ, grilled chicken, and always hot dogs and hamburgers. To top it all off you could get your favorite custard from Culver's.
We had thousands of people join us to take in the festivities and to enjoy live patriotic music by different musical groups all day long.
At 7:00 p.m. we had our evening service outside, with over 6,000 in attendance. The choir and orchestra of First Baptist Church performed during the service. The service was performed by Dr. Jack Schaap, pastor of First Baptist Church of Hammond, along with Pastor Freddy De Anda, the Spanish pastor of First Baptist Church, interrupting for the bilingual service.
To finish off the festivities, at 9:15 p.m. the largest fireworks show of Northwest Indiana was shot off from the parking garage of First Baptist Church.
