Pastors' School® 2010 - The Basics...

February 25, 2010

On March 15-18, 2010, the largest gathering of independent Baptists in the world will assemble in Hammond, Indiana, at the nation's largest and oldest Pastors' School®.

The theme for the 47th Annual Pastors' School® is "The Basics . . . Go, Win, Baptize, Teach," designed to focus on the basic purpose for which Christ started the church. It's the desire for this year Pastors' School® to help gather those like-minded Christian leaders and workers and rally an army of church builders who can help bring revival to this nation, a renewal of church building to our movement, and a resurrection of what we commonly refer to as the "old-time religion."

According to per-conference spending figures tabulated by the ICCA, over $4 million will be infused into Northwest Indiana's economy because of Pastors' School®.

There will be 20 different specialized tracks each afternoon, six more than last year. Delegates will have a vast and varied selection, including tracks on Church Growth, Legal Issues, Teens & Youth Work, Media, Music, Debt Management, Christian Education, Prayer, Marriage Counseling, Spanish Ministry, and many others. The broad range of topics covered is designed to offer delegates a kind of "toolbox" for ministry—a collection of resources to assist pastors and Christian leaders in all phases of church operation. Noted experts from across the nation will speak at these and other daytime sessions during this four-day conference.

The main sessions, hosted by Pastor Jack Schaap, will take place in First Baptist Church's 7,500-seat auditorium located at 473 Sibley Street in Hammond, Indiana. Speaking in the evening sessions will be Dr. Eric Capaci, pastor of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and chancellor of Champion Baptist College; Dr. Clarence Sexton, pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Powell, Tennessee, and chancellor of The Crown College; and Dr. Jack Trieber, pastor of North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, California, and chancellor of Golden State Baptist College. Host and pastor of First Baptist Church, Dr. Jack Schaap, will speak during the conclusion of the conference, Thursday night, March 18.

The conference begins on Monday evening at 6:00. On Tuesday through Thursday, the evening services, which are open to the public, will begin at 6:30. Inspirational music by the church's 125-voice choir and 60-piece orchestra plus other musical specials and video presentations, along with some special surprises, will make each evening a night to remember.
