Southern Grace - Christian Womanhood Spectacular 2009
October 16, 2009
Thousands of ladies from across the country will be traveling to the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, for the 35th Annual Christian Womanhood Spectacular International Ladies' Conference on October 21-23, 2009. The former pastor's wife of 41 years, Mrs. Beverly Hyles, will not only be one of the guest speakers, but Christian Womanhood will be honoring Mrs. Hyles for her 80th birthday. Mrs. Hyles epitomizes in so many ways Proverbs 11:16a, "A gracious woman retaineth honour."
This year's theme is "Southern Grace," focusing on returning to femininity, graciousness, gratitude, and Christlikness. This is a time of getting women excited about every aspect of their feminine role again. A heartfelt "thank you" and gratitude for favors rendered seems to be lacking, sadly, even among Christians. On Thursday afternoon there will be 68 exciting breakout sessions that will cover everyday issues that ladies face, such as child rearing, grief and depression, past issues, single parenting, and women's health, to name a few.
One of the theme verses for Christian Womanhood this year is, "If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious" (1 Peter 2:3). The Lord has shown amazing grace to us, and this is something Christian Womanhood plans on celebrating at the meeting this year.
The public is invited to attend for free on Wednesday, October 21, at 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana!
