Pastors' School™ 2009 - Going the Distance

March 13, 2009

On March 16-19, 2009, the largest gathering of independent Baptists in the world will gather in Hammond, Indiana, at the nation's largest and oldest Pastors' School™ . The theme for the 46th annual Pastors' School™ is "Going the Distance," designed to help pastors and laymen alike to renew their spirits as they renew their commitments to God's work. According to per-conference spending figures tabulated by the ICCA, over $4 million will be infused into Northwest Indiana's economy because of Pastors' School™.

There will be 20 different specialized tracks each afternoon, six more than last year. Delegates will have a vast and varied selection, including tracks on Church Growth, Business Efficiency, Media, Music, Debt Management, Christian Education, Prayer, Marriage Counseling, Spanish Ministry, and many others. The broad range of topics covered is designed to offer delegates a kind of "toolbox" for ministry-a collection of resources to assist pastors and Christian leaders in all phases of church operation. Noted experts from across the nation will speak at these and other daytime sessions during this four-day conference.

The main sessions, hosted by Pastor Jack Schaap, will take place in First Baptist Church's 7,500-seat auditorium located at 473 Sibley Street in Hammond, Indiana. Speaking in the evening sessions will be Dr. Raymond Hancock, veteran preacher, evangelist, and founder of the Independent Baptist Fellowships in Georgia; Dr. Jack Trieber, pastor of North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, California, and chancellor of Golden State Bible College; and Dr. David Gibbs, Jr., lawyer and founder of the Christian Law Association in Seminole, Florida. Host and pastor of First Baptist Church, Dr. Jack Schaap, will speak during the conclusion of the conference, Thursday night, March 19.

The evening services, which begin at 6:30, will be open to the public. Inspirational music by the church's 125-voice choir and 60-piece orchestra plus other musical specials and video presentations, along with some special surprises, will make each evening a night to remember.
