Memory Lane Memorial Park Dedicates New Mausoleum
October 30, 2008
The public is invited to a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, at the newly restored Memory Lane Memorial Park mausoleum. The ribbon cutting will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. and a patriotic service will be conducted. After the 45 minute service, guided tours of the facility will be given until 6:00 p.m.
The mausoleum was severely damaged in August of 2007 when a tornado ripped the roof off the building and destroyed much of the surrounding landscaping. The new 2.3 million dollar structure is 9,995 square feet and features a 2,235-square-foot chapel, which should comfortably seat 300 people.
Sheriff Rogelio "Roy" Dominguez and Schererville Town Council President, Hal Slager, are scheduled to speak at the ceremony. All attending veterans will receive recognition and a special gift of appreciation for their service to our country. Memory Lane Memorial Park is located on Route 30 in Schererville, Indiana, one mile west of Burr Street.
