L. Fish Furniture Building Gets a Facelift
March 27, 2008
Hammond, Indiana—The 1927-art deco L. Fish Furniture Building is getting new windows. In First Baptist Church's continued effort to beautify downtown Hammond, it has invested thousands of dollars into the old L. Fish Furniture store. The frame for this glass is the same style as the original which had been covered by painted green plywood for decades. This building houses FBC's Youth and Singles Ministries. Some have said that this building has the "best terra-cotta craftsmanship in Northwest Indiana." The windows cause this design to be the focal point now.
