First Baptist Church would like to thank everyone who helped out in the "adopt a sailor" dinner on Christmas Day. A total of 486 sailors came. They ate 900 pounds of turkey, 700 pounds of ham, 600 pounds of mashed potatos, and several tablesfull of pies, cakes and goodies. Following the banquet, Sailor Ministry Director Brian Cassada graciously invited former director, Bob Hooker, to preach and 388 sailors were saved. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Brian and Kathy Cassada and all those who drove buses, helped serve the meal and otherwise gave up their Christmas Day to host the sailors. Many other church family contributed money and/or food to make this Christmas dinner a huge success.
